Safety Regulations

Safety requires everyone's responsibility and awareness. Safety work at the Division of Synchrotron Radiation Research is regulated at three levels:

General Regulations

The "General Regulations" are relevant for everyone working at the division.

Specific Safety Regulations

The "Specific Safety Regulations" are relevant for everyone working in the laboratories of the division, i.e. the Scanning Probe Microscopy labs in the C100 corridor and the labs in the basement of the Astronomy building.

Working in the X-ray laboratory of the division (in room 048B of the Astronomy building) requires special training. Please contact Johan Gustafson if you want to get access to the lab.

Risk Assessment

Risk assessments must be carried out for all laboratory activities where there is a risk of injury, damage, or exposure to hazardous chemicals. Individual, personal risk assessment forms must be written and approved prior to any laboratory activity that might include a hazard.

Examples and templates for risk assessment forms can be found here.
